This systematic literature review explores the complex relationship between community engagement and the efficacy of environmental education and biodiversity conservation projects. In an era of growing environmental concerns, the importance of community engagement in establishing sustainable practices has been widely acknowledged. This review systematically analyzes a selected selection of research to explicate the complex relationship between community involvement and the outcomes of environmental education and biodiversity conservation initiatives. This review clarifies the methods via which community engagement contributes to information distribution, behavior modification, and conservation initiatives by combining results from a variety of sources. In addition, it identifies obstacles hindering successful implementation and suggests potential ways to overcome these obstacles. The review highlights the need for an integrated approach that connects environmental education with biodiversity conservation and investigates how community participation acts as a catalyst for their combined efficacy. In addition to informing practitioners and policymakers, the synthesis identifies options for future research to fill crucial gaps in our understanding of the dynamic link between community participation, environmental education, and biodiversity protection.
